SZ artists on display in the United States

    A native of Hunan Province, he was admitted into the Chinese painting department at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 1982. In 1984, he began to study bird and flower paintings by the acclaimed painter, Zhou Chuan’an, specializing in fine brushwork. He went on to teach fine arts at the Zhaoqing Teachers’ College in Guangdong Province after graduating in 1986. In 1991, he returned to the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts to pursue a master’s degree in Chinese painting.

    Wen is art director at GSAM. He obtained a master’s degree in oil painting from the fine art department at the Russian State Pedagogical University in St. Petersburg in 2007. His oil paintings have been displayed in many national and international exhibitions.

    The Gunnar Nordstrom Gallery first opened in 1991 in the trendy lakeside arts community of Kirkland as a venue for regional painters and printmakers and has become one of the Eastside’s oldest galleries.
