     2011-March-17  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    Amber Zhang

METRO Cash & Carry, the international self-service wholesaler, has opened its third Shenzhen outlet in Bao’an District today, which is its 49th in China.

Located on Qianjin Road South, Xin’an Street, the new wholesale store offers a variety of 12,000 food and non-food items over a 4,000-square-meter area. Conveniently for professional customers, the store’s opening hours are from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

“China is a crucial strategic market for METRO Cash & Carry. The opening of the Shenzhen Bao’an wholesale store showcases once more our long-term commitment to the Chinese market,” said Tino Zeiske, president of METRO Cash & Carry China.

“The expansion of Shenzhen offers huge opportunities for our business-to-business idea. With the stimulation to the economy of Bao’an District we are fully confident of tapping the market potential of the large number of hotels, restaurants, caterers and institutions,” added Luo Zhejun, general manager of METRO Shenzhen Bao’an Store.

METRO has already opened two outlets in Luohu and Nanshan districts in the city. “We will continue to invest and grow in China in the coming years with our unique business model,” Zeiske said.
