Free Lunch for Children
    2011-08-09  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

DENG FEI’S online store Free Lunch for Children was launched on Tmail.com as a key link in a plan to provide free lunches to children who can’t afford it.

It collects donations to finance building canteens in poor areas, employing canteen staff and purchasing food.

At the store, Internet users can buy lunches priced at 3 yuan (US$0.46) each.

Monthly lunches for one child can be purchased for 66 yuan, a year’s worth of school lunch costs 600 yuan.

People can also donate by taking part in online charity auctions of celebrities’ goods at the store. So far more than 500 items for domestic celebrities have been collected.

Donations can be made on the Free Lunch official Web site (www.mianfeiwucan.org).

All the donations will be transferred to schools transparently so that everything can be tracked on the official Web site and online store, according to the store’s Web site.
