NEARLY 2,000 paintings by Shenzhen children are being exhibited at the newly opened Shenzhen Bay branch of Xiaoyan School of Art at the Shenzhen Bay Gymnasium.
The artists aged from 3 to 17, said Wu Xiaoyan, president of Xiaoyan School of Art. The paintings include water colors, illustrations, sketches and simple paintings. "Every painting shows the thoughts and creativity of a child," she said.
The exhibition was held to mark the opening of the Shenzhen Bay branch of Xiaoyan School of Art, the fourth branch of the art school.
Xiaoyan School of Art is one of the oldest children's art schools in Shenzhen. Works by its students have been shown at the National Art Museum of China, in Japan and Europe. Three of its students were admitted by the Art Institute of Chicago, one of the top three art schools in the Untied States.
The exhibition will last till March 5.
