FROM May 18 to 27, guests of Elba at The St. Regis Shenzhen will discover the world of authentic Italian artisan pasta when the internationally renowned “Prince of Pasta,” Vincenzo Spinosi, arrives from Italy to cook at The St. Regis Shenzhen. Guests will experience the finest pasta cuisine through Spinosi’s signature handmade dishes, including his specialty varieties of Spinosi pastas. The legendary Spinosi family has been making pasta since 1933 in Campofilone, Italy. Vincenzo is his parents’ youngest child and the most passionate about continuing his father’s creations. In 1973, he took over the family business and started to insert his own innovative ideas and culinary genius into the products. Through his devotion and dedication, Spinosi became dubbed the “Prince of Pasta” or the “Maccheroncino King.” In 2000, the Prince of Pasta created an original pasta product known as the “Spinosini 2000 with Omega-3,” which is now famous throughout the culinary world. His products are considered a rare commodity in Italy and across the globe. Spinosi is one of only three Italians who have received the Five-Star Diamond Award from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences. He is also a recipient of the Grand Official of Italy, an award said to be similar to the Nobel Prize. In addition to lunch and dinner, a special wine dinner menu will be available, in which guests can relish Spinosi’s pasta dishes alongside a selection of fine wines. Elba delivers authentic Italian cuisine using only the finest ingredients of the season, accompanied with an extensive Italian wine list. Guests are welcome to ask wait staff for wine suggestions to complement their dishes. Situated on the 99th floor with panoramic views of Shenzhen and the Hong Kong New Territory skyline, Elba combines a comfortable and inviting ambience with stylish, contemporary decor.
