FOR many Shenzhen residents, Shekou is a place to experience exotic food and culture, but for Papazian Mihran, who is known as “Miran” to his Chinese friends, Shekou is the place where he has started a family and seen his business boom. Educated in both France and the United States, the 29-year-old Armenia-born businessman is now the CEO of an e-commerce company and the owner of a factory that produces electronic breathalyzer tests. Six years ago, when he decided to sell his advertising business in America and seek opportunities in Shekou, Mihran could hardly speak any Chinese, but through hard work and a natural talent for learning languages, he picked up the language in a short time and adapted to the oriental mindset. Negotiating and competing in such a vibrant market, Mihran has found his own way to interact with his clients and staff from a variety of backgrounds. Anybody who tastes the Chinese tea he serves to guests in his office and listening to his stories in fluent Chinese, is impressed with the man’s character and experience. “We strive to give our customers an excellent online shopping experience. Achieving industrial innovation is beneficial to both China and my corporation,” said Mihran. (Cecilia Tan) |
