Shenzhen’s greenery goes vertical
    2013-10-31  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

FOR dense cities like Shenzhen, green plantlife serves an important role in maintaining the balance of a city’s ecosystem. Increasingly, Shenzhen’s areas of greenery are of particular significance since the city is home to more than 15 million people and has more than 2.4 million vehicles, according to official statistics.

As a pioneer in economic reforms, the city also attaches great emphasis on its development in a green and sustainable way. Promoting vertical greening can not only improve the city’s ecological environment but also enrich its urban landscape.

A nationwide seminar on vertical greening in urban cities will be held in Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao from Nov. 23 to 27.
