Muppets Most Wanted
     2014-March-26  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

《布偶大电影之最高通缉》

“Muppets Most Wanted” is a sequel to the 2011 film “The Muppets.”

The main bad guy here is a Russian frog, and much of the action takes place at a Siberian gulag*.

The sequel, with director James Bobin returning and co-writing with first film co-writer Nicholas Stoller, picks up* where the first one left off, on Hollywood Boulevard* after the successful stage show put on by the Muppets.

On the other side of the world, Kermit look-alike Constantine plans an escape from Gulag 38B, news he tells cohort* Dominic Badguy (Gervais), a talent manager who sells the Muppets on his plans for a world tour.

Constantine and Badguy arrange a plan in which every European venue the Muppets are booked at just happens to be next door to a museum or bank that can be robbed during the performance.

Arriving in Berlin, the Muppets are about to play in a shabby* place, but Badguy finds them a better location. Unhappy with the rest of the Muppets’ requirements for the show and Miss Piggy’s hints* at marriage, Kermit takes a walk to calm down as advised by Badguy. However, he is attacked by Constantine, who puts a fake mole* on Kermit’s face, making him look like Constantine. Constantine escapes. Kermit is arrested and taken to the Gulag in his place.

Meanwhile, Constantine and Badguy plot a series of thefts* while Constantine overcomes suspicions* about his accent* by wooing Miss Piggy in a way Kermit never did. Now she dreams of a European wedding. The great event, he promises, will take place at the Tower of London, which is home to the Crown Jewels. If he succeeds in stealing them, he will be the greatest criminal* of all time.

Borrowing the idea from the farewell performance of the Von Trapp family in “The Sound of Music,” Kermit escapes during a performance at the gulag and ends up in London the next day, just in time to allow Miss Piggy to realize who the real Kermit is, him or the rich guy with the accent.

Constantine escapes with Piggy as hostage. Then, after some action scenes, Constantine and Badguy are arrested.

Except for the music, the sequel is not quite as good as the first film.
