    Truck hits aircraft

A CORPORATE aircraft parked at Shenzhen airport was struck by an engineering vehicle Tuesday.

The aircraft, owned by Yifeng Airlines, was slightly damaged. Shenzhen Airport personnel reported that there were no casualties. The water truck, however, was seriously damaged.

    Child’s death

A FATHER was questioning the actions of Ailu Kindergarten in Meilin, Futian District, about what he says was the delayed treatment of his 4-year-old son, who suddenly died Monday.

The child collapsed at noon while the class sat waiting for lunch. The teacher in charge rushed the boy to the kindergarten clinic and called police to summon an ambulance as the hotline 120 was occupied and busy.

Sadly, by the time the ambulance arrived at 11:45 a.m., about 20 minutes after he collapsed, the child was already dead.

    Vehicle numbers

THE number of motor vehicles in Shenzhen officially reached 2.764 million by Monday, according to statistics compiled by Shenzhen traffic police vehicle administration.

In recent years the number of vehicles in Shenzhen has steadily grown at about an average rate of 20 percent annually. The number reached 1 million in 2007 and 2.3 million by the end of 2013.

Approximately 3 million vehicles are expected to be on city streets by the end of this year.
