Meaning:
“街” is “street,” and “拍” is short for “拍照” (take a snapshot). “街拍,” or street snap, refers to taking snapshots of trendy women and men on the street. This practice was started by photographers for magazines which introduce not just catwalk fashion but also street fashion. Street snaps not only feature common people. There are also street snaps of celebrities.
Example:
A: 我们新出的杂志你看了吗?
Wǒmen xīn chū de zázhì nì kàn le ma?
Have you read our new magazine?
