Hot, hazy weather to ease
     2014-July-25  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE stiflingly hot, hazy weather shrouding Shenzhen in recent days is expected to ease from Friday, according to Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory.

The observatory set the high at 33 degrees Celsius for Saturday and said showers could occur this weekend.

Due in part to Typhoon Matmo, temperatures stayed between 36 and 37 degrees Celsius in parts of Shenzhen earlier this week. The temperature even reached 37.1 degrees Celsius in parts of Shenzhen on Wednesday.

In addition, pollution, the cause behind these hazy days, also made residents suffer.

Shenzhen is in its hottest period of the year, which will last from July 18 to Aug. 16, meteorologists said.

Showers and thunderstorms are forecast for next week.
