CHEN TIEXIN, a senior political adviser of Liaoning, is under investigation for suspected serious discipline and law violations, the Party’s Central Commission for Discipline Inspection said Thursday.
Chen is vice chairman of the Liaoning Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.
In a separate development, the second-highest graft buster in Shanxi Province was detained immediately after his supervisor published an article Wednesday urging the punishment of officials who objected to the leadership’s anti-graft crackdown.
The official announcement by the Party’s Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the investigation into Yang Senlin, the executive deputy secretary of the provincial graft-fighting body, added the 57-year-old to a list of officials brought down in a probe of officials with connections to the coal-rich province.
Dozens of officials in the region have been detained for corruption, including Ling Zhengce, vice chairman of Shanxi’s political advisory body.
Meanwhile, Hu Xuefan, former head of the Anhui provincial tourism bureau, is under investigation on suspicion of taking bribes, China’s Supreme People’s Procuratorate revealed Thursday.
