LeBron James’ neighbors get cake apology
     2014-July-25  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

LEBRON JAMES has sent cupcakes to neighbors of his home in Akron to apologize for the ruckus caused by the announcement of his return to the Cleveland Cavaliers two weeks ago.

Cavaliers fans and journalists converged on the NBA star’s home to await his July 11 decision on whether he would come back to northeast Ohio or stay with the Miami Heat. A commotion ensued, and police were called to direct traffic.

To make amends, the LeBron James Family Foundation sent a note of apology accompanied by a dozen cupcakes to neighbors Tuesday, according to multiple media outlets.

Several neighbors tweeted photos of the cupcakes and the note saying that “we are sorry for the chaos,” adding that the James family is “so blessed to have understanding neighbors like you.”

Meanwhile, a salary-dumping deal on Tuesday by the Cavaliers could help James’ new team swing a deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves for star center Kevin Love.

The Cavaliers obtained guard John Lucas III and forwards Malcolm Thomas and Erik Murphy from Utah for second-year guard Carrick Felix, a second-round pick in next year’s NBA draft and US$1 million.

All three players who went to Cleveland have contracts that are not guaranteed for next season, meaning the Cavaliers would have about US$3.3 million toward Love’s US$15.7 million salary should they swing a deal for him with Minnesota.

The Timberwolves are looking at a deal involving other players that could force the Cavaliers to seek the aid of a third club in order to make the trade work.(SD-Agencies)
