Dancers hit the floor in Shenzhen
    2014-07-31  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE 12th Shenzhen China Open Championships, the most prestigious ballroom and Latin dancing competition in Asia, ended July 20 at the Shenzhen Gymnasium.

More than 2,000 dancers from 30 countries and regions participated in the four-day event. This year, the contest added an under-18 category. The panel of 26 judges for the final competition included Robin Short, Marcus Hilton, Anthony Hurley, Karen Hardy and Alan Fletcher.

Twelve pairs of dancers from both the ballroom and Latin dance categories entered the last round. After a fierce competition, Victor Fung and Anastasia Muravyova from the United States won the ballroom dance championship and British dancers Michael Malitowski and Joanna Leuni won the first prize in Latin dance.

The competition is approved by the World Dance Council and is one of the three most prestigious dance competitions in the world.(SD News)
