The number of traffic violations captured by monitoring cameras and the license recognition system in the past three months dropped by 19.2 percent, compared to the same period last year, to 126,898 as of Saturday. This comes on the heels of police launching a citywide action to implement stricter traffic rules.

Among violations made by truck drivers, those on Fulong and Meiguan roads accounted for 27 percent of the 28,072 recorded this year. Police also caught 106,402 drivers running red lights this year and 87.8 percent of them had vehicles with Shenzhen plates.
