I-Dosing
     2014-August-26  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    数码毒品

    Dosing 意为服药,数码产品与毒品有什么联系呢?请看对话:

A: My nephew recently became addicted to music. He seems to bring his MP3 player everywhere and wear his earphones all the time.

B: Keep an eye on him. Kids these days are apparently i-Dosing — using “digital music drugs” to get high just like taking drugs. MP3s are a gateway drug.

A: Oh, really? Music can result in the same feelings as taking drugs?

B: Maybe a certain type of repetitive drone-like music can. It looks like anti-drug campaigns should extend to the digital world.

Note: I-Dosing is the use of auditory tones in an attempt to alter consciousness in ways that mimic recreational drugs. The technique involves playing two different tones simultaneously to produce a perceived tone inside the head to alter brainwaves.
