Seniors receive care at nursing home
    2014-08-28  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

LOCATED on Taining Road in Luohu District, Luohu Social Welfare Center is the largest public nursing home for the elderly in Shenzhen, which houses more than 360 elderly people with an average age of 85.

More than 100 caregivers take care of the senior citizens on a 24-hour basis, and a medical team provides professional healthcare. The nursing home organizes several interest groups and various activities to enrich the residents’ lives. It also provides hospice care for the dying.

A new building is currently under construction that will provide the center with 700 more beds, said the center’s deputy director Chen Weiliang. He added that 300 more beds would be available by the end of the year.
