SHENZHEN’S largest English-language newspaper and the city’s most popular English-language website have teamed up to launch ShenzhenClassifieds.com — a free classifieds website to help international residents more easily find jobs, apartments, services and items for sale.

All listings will appear on ShenzhenStuff.com and ShenzhenClassifieds.com while featured listings will be re-printed in Shenzhen Daily to reach 50,000+ viewers weekly. The website is also available in Chinese to extend the reach of listings beyond the local expat audience.

ShenzhenClassifieds.com is also the city’s first mobile-optimized classifieds website designed to fit on any smartphone or tablet. To further enhance its effectiveness on mobile devices, each ad listing includes its own Quick Response Code to scan and share on WeChat.

Winton Dong, Shenzhen Daily’s editor-in-chief, said of the new website, “Shenzhen is becoming a more international city. Employment, housing and quality services are among the key concerns of expats. Through ShenzhenClassifieds.com, we hope to make living in Shenzhen more comfortable and convenient for international residents.”

David Garzotto, founder of Asia Stuff Media, said: “More than 50 percent of Internet traffic already comes from mobile devices in China. Meanwhile, more than 60 percent of jobseekers are using mobile devices to look for employment opportunities online. It’s the right time to launch a mobile-focused classifieds platform for the city.

“By leveraging the readership of Shenzhen’s top English-language newspaper and website and offering a mobile version of the website, we hope to reach the broadest possible audience of recruiters, jobseekers, buyers and sellers.”
