    Metro rules

    PASSENGERS can now bring knives longer than 10 cm that are well packed onto the city’s subway trains, according to new rules.

    The rules also allow passengers to bring up to 2 kg of liquor and 1 kg (1000 ml) of hairspray.

    Gas price drop

    THE price of gas dropped by 0.10 yuan (US$0.02) per liter in Shenzhen yesterday after the National Reform and Development Commission lowered gas prices nationwide.

    The price of diesel fuel dropped by 0.12 yuan per liter.

    Land sale

    THE city plans to sell a piece of land in Longhua New Area for residential construction next month.

    The land is about 46,646 square meters, and the construction area is about 186,500 square meters. The initial listing price for the land is about 2.5 billion yuan.

    The auction will be held 3 p.m. Oct. 22. The land is expected to sell for more than 4 billion yuan.
