    Checkpoint buses

SHENZHEN’S transportation commission has extended the running time of the final bus on route M206 from Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint to Guangming New Area by half an hour to 9 p.m. every day to satisfy the needs of late border-crossing passengers.

Meanwhile, the number of buses on route 90 will be increased from nine to 12 between Friday and Sunday and during public holidays.

Beginning Friday, sectional buses on routes 245 and 409 will operate at night between Friday and Sunday and during public holidays to satisfy the needs of passengers traveling to the Window of the World theme park and Nanshan District’s CBD area, the commission said Thursday.

    Firefighting drill

A FIREFIGHTING drill will be held at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at the Ping An Finance Center Building, which is still under construction, the city’s firefighting detachment said Thursday.

Firemen from the provincial firefighting command center, Shenzhen, Dongguan and Huizhou will join the drill. More than 30 fire engines will be used in the drill.

Upon completion, the Ping An Finance Center Building will reach 448.3 meters, becoming the tallest building in Shenzhen. As the building is located near Yitian Road, Fuhua Road, Central No. 2 Road and Fuhua No. 3 Road, residents are asked not to drive through the area or to park their cars too close to the drill site. Residents are also reminded to not be alarmed when they hear sirens and see simulated smoke.
