EUROPE is home to half of Shenzhen’s 16 sister cities from around the world, according to official statistics.
Among the European sister cities are Pozna in Poland, Nuremberg in Germany and Vienne in France.
The second-biggest source of Shenzhen’s sister cities is Asia, followed by America and Africa, according to a report in yesterday’s Southern Metropolis Daily.
Shenzhen established a friendly exchange relationship with Katmandu in Nepal earlier this month, bringing the number of such cities to 43.
Europe is also the biggest source of the international cities with a friendly exchange relationship with Shenzhen, followed by Asia and America.
Twenty-two such cities are located in Europe.
Twenty-six out of the 59 sister cities and cities with a friendly exchange relationship are economic centers, the paper said.
In addition, 16 of them are home to international airports and 11 are home to transport hubs. (Martin Li)
