CIEP schedule
THE 13th Conference on International Exchange of Professionals (CIEP) has been rescheduled to open April 18-19 next year, instead of November this year, at Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, according to an announcement made Tuesday at the organizers’ first meeting.
A recruitment fair for expats will also be held at the CIEP, an annual event.
Shekou square
CONSTRUCTION of Shekou Square will start later this month, according to Shenzhen’s public works bureau.
Shekou Square, which covers 24,498 square meters, is located at the three-way intersection area between Shekou Xinjie, Jinshiji Road and Wanghai Road. It is an underground project, with parking places for buses. The square on the ground floor will be used for sports, entertainment and as a public park.

Customs clearance
STARTING Thursday, international passengers will be allowed three more hours for customs clearance until 2 a.m. at Shenzhen International Airport Checkpoint.
Customs clearance is now available 7 a.m.-2 a.m. instead of the formerly 8 a.m.-midnight, and is likely to be round the clock next year at the earliest.
Park renovation
THE Waterland Resort in Shajing, Bao’an District, will be renovated into a wetland park, according to Bao’an District Government.
The renovation project, which will start before 2015, is one of nine key projects of Bao’an in its international district construction. The nine projects also include construction of Dachanwan Port, a convention center, an international industrial park, an international school, Haiyu International Community, Xiwan Mangrove Forest Ecological Park and Coastal International Cultural Leisure Center.
