Construction on intl. school campus begins
     2014-October-17  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    (From Page 1)

Brain Forsythe, principal of ISNS, said during the groudbreaking ceremony that the entire community of ISNS is welcoming the opportunity and the challenges to help build a world-class school utilizing the IB curriculum from Canada which will produce worldly graduates.

Dr. Francis Pang, chairman of Canada-based AKD International Education Inc., which is the parent company of ISNS, said that the opening marks the beginning of a new page of ISNS, where students and educators work together for a successful future and will empower the future citizens of the world.

Yu Xinguo, head of Nanshan District Government, said the construction of a new ISNS campus marks further success in Shenzhen of education exchange between China and Canada. Yu said that ISNS, since its opening in 2002, has offered high-quality education for the children of expatriates who live and work in the district and helped attract talents in all fields as well as boosting the district’s quality of international education. He hoped the school will continue to contribute to the district’s economic and social development by incorporating Sino-Western ideas on education and cultivate more international talents.

Nanshan District is currently home to six international schools that provide more than 3,000 school seats to children of foreign nationalities or Chinese residents of Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macao.

In another development, AKD International Education Inc., a Canada-based education group, announced Thursday that it has signed an agreement with the International Child Art Foundation (ICAF) to organize the Arts Olympiad in China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan on behalf of the ICAF.

AKD will have exclusive license to organize the Arts Olympiad in China and to select the winners from each province, who will represent their provinces at the 5th World Children’s Festival to be held in Washington, D.C. in June 2015.
