Oktoberfest held at The Venice Hotel SZ

    THE Venice Hotel Shenzhen will hold its 9th annual Oktoberfest Nov. 13 to 22.

    Every year, since November 2006, the hotel has set up a huge tent in its garden from which the sounds of German folk songs float out. Since then, Oktoberfest has been growing in popularity in the city.

    This year, the hotel will provide guests with German-imported beer and various foods.

    The menu includes weisswurst, frankfurters, pork bratwurst, veal bratwurst and kasekrainer, grilled pork cutlets, schweinebraten (white cabbage with bacon and caraway) and beef broth with traditional pancakes and liver dumplings. Also, guests can expect to have beer pops, cheese pretzels and more.

    In addition, the seven-member band Muenchner Musikanten will perform at the festival.

    To attend, each guest can pay 398 yuan (US$65) or 358 yuan for the VIP experience from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, the price is 498 yuan per person or 398 yuan per VIP guest.
