Police open house sets new record
    2014-12-04  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

OVER 650,000 people joined last weekend’s 10th police open house day, which was a new record for number of visitors, according to local Chinese-language media.

On Nov. 30, about 175 venues in the city simultaneously opened to the public, offering various events for visitors to familiarize them with local police.

At the main venue on Qiaocheng Road East, Futian District, policemen from the criminal, counterterrorist, SWAT and firefighting departments displayed their weapons, tools and skills to residents, and answered questions raised by visitors. A catwalk show was also held.

According to reports, a proposal to set up a Shenzhen police care day on Aug. 8 each year was also drafted.(Tan Yifan)
