Man kills and dismembers college student
     2014-December-18  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A MAN killed a local college student and dismembered his body in his rental apartment in Luohu District, according to the district police.

The homosexual man, only identified as Wu, has been detained by police and admitted to killing the student, surnamed Yan.

Yan, aged 21, went missing after visiting a bar called M1 in Luohu on Nov. 16, according to yesterday’s report by the Southern Metropolis Daily.

His mother reported to police Dec. 1, asking them to look for Yan.

Surveillance footage showed Yan left the bar with Wu. The two took a taxi to Hualongyuan, a residential estate in Luohu, the paper said.

Police found bloodstains and Yan’s mobile phone in Wu’s apartment, where he had lived for at least four years.

After interrogation, Wu, an HIV carrier, admitted to killing Yan, dismembering and disposing of his body. However, police didn’t reveal his motive.

A Sichuan native, Wu, aged 32, was described as friendly and kind by neighbors. He reportedly always smiled and liked playing with children.

Wu worked in the jade business and people often went to his apartment to buy jade. He also frequently used a machine to polish jade, according to his neighbors.

An unidentified neighbor of Wu said he had met Yan several days before Wu was taken away by police and he had looked normal then.(Li Hao)
