A VARIETY of short films will be screened for one week in the New Media Industrial Park in Shekou, Nanshan District, starting Saturday.
The screening is part of the ongoing inaugural Shenzhen International Short Film Festival, which was organized by Shenzhen’s publicity department and launched in New York on Oct. 14.
People can follow the festival’s WeChat account (iv-film) to gain free access to the screenings, according to the festival’s organizers.
An award ceremony is scheduled to be held in Shekou on Sunday to recognize outstanding short films submitted to the festival, with a Golden Horn Award in 20 categories.
The award categories include best film, best foreign film, best documentary, best music, best director and best screenplay.
The award ceremony will be broadcast live via www.fun.tv starting 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Aside from the screening and the award ceremony, the festival also consists of a forum on short films, which will gather professionals from the film industries at home and abroad to discuss topics like globalization of Chinese films.
