Valentine’s Day celebrated with blooming flowers
    2015-02-16  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE 34th Spring Festival flower fair opened Saturday on Aiguo Road in Luohu District, featuring blooming roses with throngs of visitors picking up flowers to show affection for their beloved ones as the date of the opening this year coincided with Valentine’s Day.

The five-day flower fair, which sees a wide variety of flowers, potted plants and handicrafts displayed, is expected to attract 1.2 million visitors this year, after neighboring cities canceled similar flower fairs, according to local authorities.

The fair’s organizer, the urban management administration in Luohu District, said that it will recycle flower pots after the Spring Festival and that residents in the district can register for the service.

The fair will end Wednesday, the Lunar New Year’s Eve. (Anna Zhao)
