    Man kills daughter

A MAN confessed to beating his 6-year-old daughter to death in Yiwu, Zhejiang Province, according to Legal Evening News, which cited the city’s public security bureau.

    Internet gambling

POLICE have busted a cross-border gang suspected of organizing Internet gambling in Central China’s Hunan Province, local authorities said yesterday.

According to police, 19 have been put under criminal detention for opening casinos and another eight were approved for arrest in a two-month crackdown last year, according to the provincial public security department at a press conference.

About 200 million yuan (US$32.5 million) from 1,000 accounts across the country involved in gambling was frozen.
