    2015-03-06  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

RIDDLES, snacks, folk games, handicraft shows and photo exhibitions were seen at the square of Shenzhen Book City CBD Store on Thursday, Lantern Festival.

The events were part of the cebration, which attracted many residents and performers to cheer on the end of the Chinese Spring Festival celebrations.

The performances included dragon and lion dances, folk songs, Peking Opera, Cantonese Opera, Sichuan face changing, martial arts and folk music. A dozen local performers also displayed Shenzhen-based folk performances.

While watching the outdoor shows, visitors also joined in on riddle-guessing activities and shared snacks, such as sweet-rice balls and rice cakes, which symbolize happiness and family reunions carried out by the festival.
