Self-service machines improve city life
    2015-03-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SINCE the 1990s, vending machines and other self-service machines have been popping up all over China. According to a Chinese vending machine association, about 20,000 machines have been put into use around the country, which indicates a huge gap between market supply and demand, compared to an estimated demand for over 200,000 machines.

In addition to traditional vending machines, specially designed machines for book lending or those can recharge batteries can be found around the city, making life more convenient. Here are some pictures of how these innovative machines are helping make life in the city better for residents.(Tan Yifan)
