A LEADING international neuroscience treatment center will be set up in Shenzhen, according to a framework agreement signed by Shenzhen Public Hospital Management Center and International Neuroscience Institute Hannover on Sunday.
The center will provide high-quality medical services for Shenzhen and neighboring cities and promote the development of neuroscience in Shenzhen, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported.
According to the agreement, the center will be a publicly funded hospital that focuses on neuroscience and basic public health services. It will be a platform for international exchanges, training and research.
During a meeting with Professor Madjid Samii, head of International Neuroscience Institute Hannover, Shenzhen Mayor Xu Qin conferred an honorary Shenzhen citizen certificate to Samii for his contribution and role in the city’s public health undertakings.
Samii is a world-renowned neuroscientist and has played an important role in enhancing cooperation between Shenzhen and the International Neuroscience Federation.
The Standing Committee of Shenzhen Municipal People’s Congress passed a decision at the end of 2014 to confer honorary citizenship to Samii for his contribution.
