FOUR-TIME Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel dedicated his maiden win for Ferrari to his childhood hero Michael Schumacher after emerging top in the Malaysian Grand Prix on Sunday.
Vettel, who moved to Ferrari this year from Red Bull as Fernando Alonso’s replacement, won a strategic battle as Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton struggled with tyres.
Describing Michael Schumacher as his ‘hero,’ Vettel said that it had been his dream, adding that all the kids at the go-kart track looked up to him, and it made their lives when Schumacher turned up to shake hands every year, the BBC reported.
Schumacher emerged from an induced coma in June, and recovered enough to leave hospital in September nine months after suffering severe head injuries in a ski accident in the French Alps in December 2013.(SD-Agencies)
