Enjoy a relaxing holiday along the coastline
    2015-04-30  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

LABOR Day and summer are drawing near. One of the best ways to chill out in Shenzhen is to walk along the eastern coastline. If you are tired of crowded Dameisha, Dapeng is a nice destination.

Since the Dapeng Peninsula National Geopark opened for visitors in 2013, the resort has become a fun new attraction for local residents.

The park covers nearly 51 square kilometers and runs along 67.8 kilometers of coastline. It features volcanic rocks that formed after two eruptions 135 million years ago. Visitors can enjoy the scenery and visit the geology museum, which is home to more than 500 exhibits, including precious minerals and fossils.

Hikers will find beautiful paths nearby to walk in the woods and observe a wetland reserve.

One of the paths is 3.3 kilometers long and leads to the main peak of Qiniang Mountain, which is the second-tallest mountain in Shenzhen, after Wutong Mountain.

The other path is about 6 kilometers long and stretches from Yangmeikeng in the west to Luzui in the east.

Drivers’ route: Shenzhen Eastern Coastal Expressway to Yanba Expressway to Dapeng

    Buses: E11, H92, 818 and 833(Tan Yifan)
