German Maypole festival held at Grand Hyatt Shenzhen
    2015-05-01  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE Show Kitchen at Grand Hyatt Shenzhen is celebrating the German Maypole festival throughout the month of May. Highlights of the promotion include a wide selection of authentic German delicacies accompanied by free flowing German beer.

Guests can indulge in an assortment of traditional sausages from various regions of Germany, such as Bockwurst, one of the most popular varieties from Berlin, Thuringian sausage, which has been the pride of the state for hundreds of years, and also Nuremburger, a pork-based bratwurst flavored with herbs. Other selections include street food favorites such as Traditionelle Currywurst, which is a German bratwurst topped with a fragrant tomato curry sauce and french fries, and Grillplatte with beer-glazed steaks served with homemade herb butter and smoked BBQ sauce. Traditional appetizers such as German potato salad, coleslaw and cold cuts will be available. Don’t forget to finish the meal with a classic Black Forest cake for dessert.

The free flowing German beer included in the promotion offers guests even more reasons to celebrate. Guests can enjoy their fill of beer produced by Hofbrau München. Hofbrau München is one of the last two traditional Munich breweries still in Bavarian ownership. The brewery’s classic lager is a light gold brew with a well-rounded malt taste.

The promotion is available for both lunch and dinner until the end of May. The weekday lunch buffet is priced at 258 yuan (US$41) per person from Monday to Friday, and 338 yuan per person on Saturday and Sunday. The dinner buffet is priced at 378 yuan per person from Monday to Thursday and 428 yuan per person from Friday to Sunday. All prices are subject to a 15-percent service charge. Children aged from 6 to 12 years enjoy a 50-percent discount while those under 6 years dine for free.
