An ancient Buddhist sculpture reunited with its head in Kaohsiung, Taiwan on Saturday. Master Hsing Yun (R), founding abbot of Fo Guang Shan Temple in Kaohsiung, and Li Xiaojie, president of The Chinese Cultural Exchange Association, witnessed the reunion. The sculpture, made of white marble, dates back to the North Qi Dynasty (550-577). It was originally worshipped in Youju Temple in Lingshou County, Hebei Province, where the Buddha’s head was stolen in 1996. The body is on a three-month Buddhist Cultural Relic Exhibition in Kaohsiung, before the entire statue is sent back to Hebei.Xinhua
