Singapore food festival at The Show Kitchen
    2015-06-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE Show Kitchen is proud to host its Taste of Singapore food festival, presented from June 12 to 28. During the promotion, guests can enjoy the best of Singapore’s exciting cuisine, prepared by two of the nation’s leading chefs flown over specially from Grand Hyatt Singapore.

Singaporean cuisine is a melting pot of culinary styles, influenced by the diverse cultures of its major ethnic groups. Each representing the Chinese, Malay and Indian cultures reflected in Singaporean cuisine, the visiting chefs will present diners at the Taste of Singapore food festival with the authentic and diverse flavors of their culinary heritage.

A main highlight of the promotion will be the ever-popular laksa, a quintessential hawker dish of rice noodles bathed in curried coconut sauce made from a complex blend of spices. There will be a rotating selection of Singaporean specialties, including chili crabs stir-fried in a piquant-yet-sweet chili sauce and Hainanese chicken rice, a renowned representative of Singaporean cuisine. The chefs will also prepare roti prata in the open show kitchen. A typical Indian flatbread, roti prata is especially delicious when dipped in smooth, fragrant curry.

Returning as the lead guest chef is chef Low Hui Heng. With more than 18 years of culinary experience as a Chinese chef, Low has been an ambassador of Singaporean cuisine at Hyatt food festivals worldwide, including Hyatt Regency Istanbul and Grand Hyatt Berlin. Chef Rajesh Kumar, who will showcase Indian cuisine, will accompany Low.

The promotion is available for both lunch and dinner from June 12 to 28 with free flowing Tiger beer.(SD NewsSingapore laksa.Hainanese chicken rice.)
