    A 5.5-KM sea tunnel, part of Mawan Sea Tunnel Passage, will be built to stimulate the development of the Qianhai area, according to a construction plan revealed by Shenzhen’s transportation commission Thursday.

    Suggestions from the public are welcome.

    The 7.3-km passage will link the overpass of Mawan Boulevard in the south and the Dachanwan Tollgate of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Riverside Expressway in the north. The 5.5-km section will go under the sea, the plan shows.

    The passage will be linked with Yueliangwan Boulevard and Jinwan Boulevard through overpasses and with Menghai Boulevard, Tinghai Boulevard, Linhai Boulevard and Yu’an Road in the Qianhai area through underpasses.
