Working on the surface of skyscrapers
    2015-07-30  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

IN the sweltering afternoon of July 16, Meng Shigui, 27, leader of a construction team, was arranging installment work with his fellow workers on the 106th story of the Ping An Finance Center, the tallest building in Shenzhen.

Their job that day was to install the floor’s curtain wall. The eight workers had to finish the work in 34 degree Celsius weather.

Meng’s team specializes in covering skyscraper surfaces, and they have traveled all over China to surface some of the tallest buildings in the world. Meng said that on an average day, they could install 30 steel plates that weigh hundreds of kilograms. This summer, they still have to finish polishing over 174,000 square meters of curtain walls.
