Travel by driving your own car
    2015-09-16  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    Li Yingying

The seven-day National Day holiday is coming soon. Some of my friends will join a tour group, but others, like me, prefer to travel by riding in a car with family members.

Despite the fact that more people are choosing to drive cars and traffic is often terrible near some popular scenic spots, I still believe that driving a car to a destination is a better way to spend the holiday.

Compared with joining a travel agency, driving allows your travel time to be more flexible. Imagine driving along the road, the setting sun painting the trees and remote mountains with a golden glory, you could stop the car whenever you want and enjoy the scene. However, if you are a member of a travel group, your schedule is beyond your control.

Also, it enhances family bonds. On the road, only family members are in the car, so they could exchange private thoughts with each other. The emotional connections could become closer because of words and contact while traveling together.

Since there are not many holidays each year, why not to choose some less famous places to explore. It’s better than staying at home or traveling with strangers.
