IELTS results delayed due to routine review: authority
    2015-10-14  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) authority gave explanations that the delay or cancelations of the exams from July to September were due to a routine global review.

Lin Haoran is a Grade-12 student and is preparing to apply to study in the United States. He sat for the IELTS exam on August 8, but his results were delayed for nearly a week. In the email he received from the IELTS authority, the authority claimed the delay was due to a routine review in order to ensure the justice and security of IELTS exams.

Like Lin, a number of mainland students who recently took the IELTS exam had their results delayed or canceled.

An IELTS authority staff member told Chinese media that the review was a routine global review that takes place every year, and the Chinese mainland was the main target area this year.

Many exam-takers are concerned that the results delay will postpone their applications to study abroad. The IELTS authority said students who are waiting for their IELTS results to apply to overseas institutions could contact the exam center via email at ielts@mail.neea.edu.cn or they could call the national IELTS hotline at 010-82345671.

The IELTS authority will issue evidences of the official delay to educational institutions at exam-takers’ requests. Also, the authority will provide five extra copies of the results for free within two weeks of the release of the results. The application for a review of the results will also be extended by four weeks after the results are released.
