Visually impaired engineers live a Rewarding life
    2015-10-15  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

ABOUT four months ago, a group of visually impaired engineers settled in Fulian Building in Futian District and started work on several IT projects. Thanks to their efforts, they have helped correct and upgrade many IT programs we use today.

Yong Bin, 27, joined the Shenzhen Information Accessibility Research Association not long ago and now is working on perfecting certain functions of QQ, WeChat, Taobao and other IT systems for the visually impaired. He and his co-worker Wang Mengqi, 22, spend day and night at the workspace, working and celebrating their success.

In addition to improving online information systems’ accessibility, they have joined a charity initiated by Alibaba to make new inventions and bring them to life through online crowdfunding.

On the eve of White Cane Safety Day, which is today, they shared several photos with us depicting their daily lives.(Tan Yifan)
