After a month of competition, all of the table tennis matches were over. Two students won first prize, two students won second prize and four students won third prize. I was very lucky to be one of the two first-prize winners.

    As more Chinese table tennis players shot to fame through various games, table tennis has become one of the most popular sports in the world. More and more people play table tennis and love it, and I am one of them.

    I began to play table tennis when I was just a Grade 2 student. There was a table tennis room downstairs in my home, so every day I got to play, and still do.

    I always wanted to have a chance to show my skills at table tennis, but there was no opportunity until a few months ago when the school organized a table tennis competition. I participated and fought hard. I won the championship. Later, my friends asked me how I won the match. I told them that there’s no magic, “If you work hard enough, you can be successful like me. After all — no pain, no gain.”
