Fresh language learning experience offered by Wall Street English
    2015-11-18  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    华尔街英语启用全新设计学习中心为英语学习者创造学习新体验

A brand-new Wall Street English study center at SOLANA in Beijing has been put into use. The newly designed learning space promises to offer students a more interactive, efficient and digital study experience in an open space with social functions.

Evert van Steenbergen, design director of the center, said the design has given every space multiple functions, bringing teachers and students a fun experience. The design team applied acoustic insulation material to make sure each area would not be disturbed by noises from other areas.

In addition to the student-oriented space design, user-friendly furniture breaks down the distance between teachers and students.

The designer also said that large LED screens and an app would help update the teachers’ skills: Students can download the Wall Street English app to take courses online and hand in assignments for face-to-face classes.

To test the design proposal, workers from IDEO, a world-famous design studio, rented a space in Shanghai and transformed it into the ideal space. They invited students and teachers to use the space and perfect its functions. The final construction was completed in Beijing by Canon Design.

Tim Russ, director of operations for Wall Street English China, said the company received an over-100-million-yuan investment from its parent company, Pearson.

“With the large investment, Wall Street English is updating its teaching mode and tools, and the new learning system will be applied soon,” Russ said. (Tan Yifan)
