    2017年城乡义务教育免除学杂费

Premier Li Keqiang announced that all schools (including private schools) in urban areas and villages would stop charging tuition fees and offer free textbooks and subsidies to needy students beginning in 2017 at a state conference last week.

The conference also announced that subsidies for boarding schools, small-sized schools and schools that are in need of heat in northern China would be increased. The Central Government will invest more than 15 billion yuan (US$2.35 billion) in the education sector.
