Nowadays, reading is becoming more and more valuable because people judge a person’s level by what he has read. In my point of view, reading is helpful to improving our abilities. Looking back over the books I have read, the book “A Global History” has had the greatest impact on me.

    The book relates the history of the world from the prehistoric age to modern times in detail. It tells us the inevitable trend of human beings from many angles. We shouldn’t view a historic event by the heroes’ deeds, but by the dialectical view in the long run. It describes history from different geographical areas to teach history and geography. From the book, we can understand many wars, from which we can see that only peace can bring us happiness and promote our economy. Therefore, it is very important for us to keep our environment peaceful.

    As far as I am concerned, we must use history as a mirror to reflect on what we have done to analyze the achievements and mistakes that we have made. Then, we learn lessons and take some actions to create a better life. The book has broadened my horizons, and now I can use the dialectical view to look at things. The book has influenced me deeply. What’s more, the book has made me interested in history.
