    2015年广东省特级教师候选人名单出炉

    The list of candidates for the Guangdong special-grade teachers of the year was released recently, with 17 out of 298 candidates being Shenzhen teachers. Special-grade teacher is an honor for outstanding primary and middle school teachers who are awarded a monthly subsidy of 300 yuan per person from the government.

    An assessment report issued by the national ministry of education earlier this month revealed that a nationwide information system for student financial aid would be established in five years.

    By sharing information with the population and poverty alleviation departments to confirm the identities of impoverished students, the system is expected to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of aiding students with real needs.

    Healthier meals in schools

    The Guangdong Provincial Education Department released a notification on Sunday that said schools should gradually stop selling unhealthy snacks such as carbonated beverages and instant noodles to students. The notification also required school canteens to arrange nutritious meals for students and purchase fresh meat instead of frozen meat.
