    Innovation promoted

    at colleges

    The education ministry recently released a notice, stating that starting in 2016 all institutes of higher learning should open courses on innovation and startups. Students who take startup-related courses, including compulsory and elective courses, would be given certain school credits.

    As of now, Peking University, Fudan University, Nankai University and Tongji University have launched startup facilities. A survey showed that out of 10,000 college students, 25.93 percent have a strong willingness to start a business on their own.

    

    CUHK(SZ) to admit Ph.D. students next year

    Shenzhen Research Institute of The Chinese University of Hong Kong will admit Ph.D. students starting in 2016. Enrollment and application details have not yet been released. According to the university, it will admit computer engineering and information engineering Ph.D. students.

    In the future, CUHK(SZ) will admit Ph.D. students in areas such as economic management, statistics and translation. (Zhang Xiaoyi)
