Shenzhen-Melbourne Engineering Institute of Life and Health to set up in Longgang
    2015-12-23  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

The Shenzhen Municipal Government, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine and RMIT University (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University) signed a framework agreement to co-found Shenzhen-Melbourne Engineering Institute of Life and Health at Shenzhen Wuzhou Guest House on December 15. The institute will be located at the International Low Carbon City of Longgang District.

The institute will offer majors and programs such as Chinese medicine, engineering of life and health and biological pharmacy. The number of students enrolled is estimated to reach 1,000 by 2020 and 3,000 by 2030.

Qualified graduates will be awarded diplomas from both Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine and RMIT University while the institute is still dependent on the Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine.

After becoming a Sino-foreign cooperative education institute with independent legal entities, it will award its students diplomas from Shenzhen-Melbourne Engineering Institute of Life and Health, and if the graduates are qualified enough, they can also obtain a diploma from RMIT University.
