    AIDS reported at schools

    10多所学校报告有学生感染艾滋病

More than 10 schools have had reports of AIDS among students in Shenzhen, Shenzhen Evening News reported at an anti-AIDS campaign on Monday.

According to the director of the city’s health education promotion center, Zhuang Runsen, an increasing number of students have been affected by the AIDS virus in recent years. Data shows that 80 percent of the cases were from male homosexual transmission.

A report released a few months ago indicated that the city has 15 AIDS cases at schools, with the youngest carrier aged only 16 years old.

    Sino-German school to open

    中德职业学校将在龙岗成立

A jointly constructed Sino-German vocational school will open in Longgang District this year. The school will start to enroll students in 2017 and expects to take 6,000 students.

According to insiders, the vocational school will adopt a dual education mode, which will require students to study textbook knowledge and theories for 40 percent of their time at the school and to take practicum at cooperating companies during the rest of their program.

The school will work with local corporations to provide internships and job opportunities. (Zhang Qian)
